Biography
Chuck Madansky was raised in a Reform Jewish household in Baltimore, Maryland. Before his foray into writing poetry, he worked as an animal virologist, receiving a PhD in microbiology and molecular genetics from Harvard Medical School. In 2010, he received the Cornerstone Award from the Barnstable County Human Rights Commission for his work to expose and bring an end to US involvement with torture. Currently a Worship Associate at a UU Church on Cape Cod, Chuck published his first full-length volume of poetry—Some Days the Spoons Talk Back—in 2021. That book explored the difference between the days we feel that we’re a part of life and those when we feel apart from life. He is currently guided by the question of whether life is really love and/or not.
