Biography

DB Jonas is an orchardist living in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico. His work has been published in numerous journals and anthologies throughout the US, the UK, Europe and Israel.  His first collection of poems, Tarantula Season and Other Poems, was released in 2023.

What is the relationship between Judaism and/or Jewish culture and your poetry?

Alongside the “Book of Nature” Judaica and Hebraica have pride of place among the inspirational sources for Mr. Jonas’ poetry. Jewish writers, artists and philosophers such as Spinoza, Proust, Rothko, Amichai, Celan and Emmanuel Levinas appear with great frequency in his poems.
