Lisa Badner
Biography
Lisa Badner’s debut poetry collection, FRUITCAKE, was recently published by Unsolicited Press. Lisa’s writing has appeared in Rattle, New Ohio Review, TriQuarterly, Mudlark, The Satirist, PANK, Fourteen Hills, Mom Egg Review, Unbroken and others. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and received a 2018 Pushcart Special Mention.
What is the relationship between Judaism and/or Jewish culture and your poetry?
Much of my poetry, especially in FRUITCAKE is related to my father who ran a kosher bakery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and the family’s complicated relationship with Judaism, Passover, and Kashrut.
