Biography

Karen Taylor has written several short stories for anthologies, including the Lambda Literary Award-winning First Person Queer: Who We Are So Far (edited by Richard Labonte and Lawrence Schimel). Her poem “Dressing the Body” first appeared in the Grief Machine issue of Ghost Light Lit. Karen\’s first poetry collection, “Mothers and Other People” (Finishing Line Press) was published in 2024.

What is the relationship between Judaism and/or Jewish culture and your poetry?

I write a lot about aging, dying, grief and loss. My Judaism gives me context and language to express these emotions with meaning and purpose.
