Biography

Sophie Klahr is the author of Two Open Doors In a Field (Backwaters Press, 2023), and Meet Me Here At Dawn (YesYes Books). With Corey Zeller, she co-authored There is Only One Ghost in the World (FC2, 2023), winner of the Ronald Sukenick Innovative Fiction Contest. Her work appears in publications such as The New Yorker and American Poetry Review. She has been a Kenan Visiting Writer at UNC-Chapel Hill, a Philip Roth Resident at the Stadler Center for Poetry and Literary Arts, and spent a total of 15 months as an artist-in-residence at Art Farm, a residency in rural Nebraska. Originally a dancer, her interdisciplinary work includes creating scenic texts for theatre and choreography for performance works. She offers private literary editing services and teaches at UNC-Chapel Hill.
