Biography

A graphic artist and lifelong poet, Stephanie Pressman earned an MA in English from San Jose State University, taught writing at community college, and is the editor of her small press, Frog on the Moon. She served as co-editor of Cæsura and americas review. Her work has appeared in many journals, among them Bridges, The MacGuffin, Sing Heavenly Muse, Cauldron Anthology, Cæsura, The Broken Plate, and California Quarterly as well as online in Newport Review, Halfway Down the Stairs, Red Wolf Editions, The Ekphrastic Review, The Collidescope, Carmina Magazine, and others. Her poem “Self” was a finalist in The Ekphrastic Review’s 2021 Women Artists Contest. Her long poem Lovebirdman appears in an illustrated volume published in June 2018.

What is the relationship between Judaism and/or Jewish culture and your poetry?

Many of my poems include Jewish content or sensibility. I have been working on a manuscript of Midrash poetry, currently titled Speak for Those Rendered Silent.
