Biography

Deborah Leipziger is a poet, author, and advisor on sustainability. Her poems have been published in the UK, the US, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Israel and the Netherlands, in such magazines and journals as Pangyrus, Salamander, Lily Poetry Review, and Revista Cardenal. Three of her poems have been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She is the co-founder of Soul-Lit, an on-line poetry magazine which features spiritual poetry. Her new collection of poems is forthcoming in early 2023 through Lily Poetry Review Books. Her chapbook, Flower Map, was published by Finishing Line Press (2013). Her eco-poems appear in several poetry anthologies including in Tree Lines, (Grayson, 2022).

Deborah is the co-founder of the New England Jewish Poetry Festival, now in its 12th year hosted by Temple Sinai in Brookline MA.  Deborah has studied poetry with Marge Piercy, Marie Howe, Ellen Bass, Rachel Kann, and Afaa Michael Weaver, among others.

Born in Brazil, Deborah resides in Brookline Massachusetts, USA. Ms. Leipziger is the author of several books on sustainability and human rights, some of which have been translated into Chinese, Korean, and Portuguese

Deborah has read her poetry at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, several Boston area bookstores, and the Boston Book Festival and lectures around the world on sustainability.
