Biography

Tova Hinda Siegel is a writer from California. She earned a B.A. from Antioch and an M.S. from USC. She is a midwife, cellist, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of many children living all over the world.  She has studied with Jack Grapes, Tresha Faye Haefner, Taffy Brodesser-Akner among others.  Her work has appeared in Salon.com, I’ll Take Wednesdays, Writing In A Woman’s Voice, Poetry Super Highway, On The Bus, MacQueens’s Quinterly, Gyroscope Review and several anthologies. Her recently published book, Uncertain Resident is available on Amazon. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband.

What is the relationship between Judaism and/or Jewish culture and your poetry?

Since I live my life as a Lubavitcher, I feel that all my poetry is permeated with a sense of G-d, though it is more apparent in some poems than in others. In many poems, G-dliness is outright obvious whereas in others it is more subtle.
