October 9 (Harvest/Fruition/Fullness): Judith Baumel, David Ebenbach, Erika Meitner, Victoria Redel

Judith Baumel’s books are The Weight of Numbers, for which she won The Walt Whitman Award of the Academy of American Poets; Now; The Kangaroo Girl;  Passeggiate and Thorny. She is Professor Emerita of English and Founding Director of the Creative Writing Program at Adelphi University. She has served as President of The Association of Writers and Writing Programs, director of The Poetry Society of America and a Fulbright Scholar in Italy. David Ebenbach is the author of nine books of poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, including his newest poetry collection, What’s Left to Us by Evening, which poet Matthew Olzmann praises as “made of equal parts grit and tenderness….a world of work, violence, politics, and little apocalypses, but also singing, birdwatching, prayer, and flowers bursting into bloom.” He lives with his family in Washington, DC. Erika Meitner is the author of six books of poems, including Holy Moly Carry Me (BOA Editions, 2018), which was the winner of the 2018 National Jewish Book Award, and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and Useful Junk (BOA Editions, 2022). Victoria Redel is a first-generation American author of four books of poetry and five books of fiction, most recently Paradise and the novel Before Everything. Victoria’s work has been widely anthologized, awarded, and translated. Her debut novel, Loverboy, was adapted for feature film. Redel has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, The National Endowment for the Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center.
